Question about baby expenses. [30 Dec 2005|07:36pm]

tariana
How much does or did your baby really cost a month? What do you pay for diapers, formula, daycare, etc. etc.? I will continue working mostly because my job has excellent benefits that I can't afford to give up.

I'm trying to figure out a plan to be able to afford to at least start trying to get pregnant. I was figuring maybe if I figured out kind of an "average" cost of what babies cost a month we could start trying to live while putting that much back (or something close to it) in a savings account each month. Then by the time I finally did get pregnant we'd have quite a nice nest egg set aside, besides being able to actually live and afford the baby on the money we actually make each month.

So, if you wouldn't mind giving me an idea of what it costs, I'd appreciate it. I'm talking an actual dollar amount, if possible.

I really do appreciate this.

I honestly don't know what to do. I've lived in this house for the past 9 months and just this summer these one neighbors have been getting on my nerves. It's an older couple and there raising there two grand-daughters. The keep on trying to tell me how to raise my 5 year old. Now honestly is they did such a wonderful job on there kids why would they have there grand kids. And why would someone be stupid enough to give them the chance to fuck another child up. The wife acts like I don't even know how to take care of my child. I mean she feeds her before i even have a chance to make dinner like at 4pm when a normal dinner time is around 5:30, 6pm. Then on the weekends she gives her a bath. I do that every night. I'm honestly afraid to say something to this women because i just might go off on her. My child shouldn't be naked at her house I don't even know this women. I have asked my daughter just to make sure no funny stuff was going on over there. I'm not stupid. How do i tell this women in a nice way to quit trying to steal my job as a mother.

I'm going out on a limb here, and I doubt anyone will actually go for this but... I have a friend in need. She is a pregnant teen but her mother refuses to let her have a baby shower so now her little girl is going to be born without all the goodies a lot of us thankfully got to give our children.

I'm throwing her a baby shower behind her mom's back... thing is - I only have 4 people to invite and that's not much. If any of you guys would be interested in getting her something (however small it doesn't matter, it's the thought that counts) PLEASE EMAIL ME. PlsmaChic@excite.com

She's having a little girl, & she's due on October 8th (so this is all really last minute)she hasn't registered anywhere because she doesn't think she's getting a shower, and the only thing she has is a crib (and she's breastfeeding). She could use diapers, pacifiers, outfits, etc. or even a gift card to babies r us or something... Thank you for everything and God bless.

Please help her if you can... Thank you.

Has anyone here have used Dr. Brown's bottles? I heard they were excellent to use, so I got those. They also have a really good air filter thingi :)

Second question:

I have an Avent brand sterilizer and warmer.
Any bottle should work with it, no?

Thanks!

today I am 30 weeks along! yey!
and also, we went to the doctor's today and got 3 new 3d ultrasound photos of dominique!
she looks JUST like mommy :)
the cord was in front of her face AGAIN) - that's why it might be a little blurry (but u can basically see everything).
on the right side, is her leg, ready to take aim and fire!
enjoy :)

by the way - they weighed her... she weighs 3 pounds and 11 oz. now!
She is 17 inches long.. (well.. the shortest in our family is 5'7" and the tallest is 6'1" so naturally she'll be tall!)

My sugar levels are perfect, so she's perfectly fine.. she won't be getting diabetes, which is awesome!
but I did gain 9 lbs. But that's okay... she's not suffering from it. So all's well :) I just have to be on a stricter diet now.. but I'll have plenty to eat, just
a limited of things TO eat.

that's all!

I am 29w,5d, and I'm not sure exactly how to answer my firend's question...
maybe you girls can?
thanks so much :)

"i was wondering if anyone else had a dull ache in their back early EARLY in pregnancy? my hubby and i are hoping to be pregnant and i would be getting my period in 2 or 3 days. i have a dull ache in my back on the left sideand towards the front also. it's almost like a period cramp, but duller and just achey. if i'm pregnant, i should "miss" my period very soon. but i'd like to know if anyone had this type of ache. it could be that my 25 lb infant likes to be held on my left side only and i lugged him around a lot today...but i'm just curious. thanks!"

When me, my sister, and my brother were babies, we had a full length mirror closet doors in our room (and still do....).
It never broke. NEVER. Never had a problem with it. 23 years for me, 22 for my brother, and 15 for my sister. Never broke.
Not even the track. Nothing. No probs.

my husband's father is saying we shouldn't put one into our baby's room.
But... the only time you leave a baby alone in their room is when they're sleeping, u know?
We are going to put the mirror closet door in there anyway.

His father in law keeps telling us it's not a good idea ...
"what if you leave the baby in their room alone?"

um... first of all, I wouldn't leave them alone. Am I crazy? No.
My mother in law even agrees with my husband and I.
(and she has weird ideas too sometimes).

What do you girls think?
